Objective & Preamble
Accurate gathering and tabulation of statistics will enable the organisation to know the strength, and to allow accurate strategic decision making by the Brigade Exco in formulating new policies, initiatives, measures and improvement of the organisation.

Statistics
1.1 Terminology
a) The annual tabulation of members in The Boys' Brigade in Malaysia is known as "Annual Company Statistics 20….."

1.2 Method of Declaration
a) BB HQ will send the "20…. Brigade-Company Administrative Returns" booklet which has the "Annual Company Statistics 20…." Form (2 pages) at the beginning of every year to all Company Captains.
b) Upon receiving the booklet, the Company Captain will complete the form and to submit by mail or fax to BB HQ for update by 31st August annually.
*An e-mail attachment would be sent to Captain upon request via e-mail.

1.3 Chronological of Declaration
a) The cut of date to fill in the form is on 30th June annually.
b) The deadline for submission is on 31st August annually.
c) Failure to submit the statistics after 31st December, BB HQ shall tabulate the membership statistics of the company based on the previously declared numbers in the record.
d) Any resignation and/or inactive members declared previously, as active prior to 30th June is not amenable.

1.4 Officers Particulars
a) BB HQ will send the Officer Particulars Form and Current Company Officers Particulars (computer generated list) to Company Captain in April every year for update.
b) Officer Particulars Form - officers will only fill in the form when :

  • His/Her particulars is not in the Current Company Officers Particular (computer generated list)
  • He/She is inducted/appointed/enrolled to the rank of officer.

c) Current Company Officers Particulars is to be amended when :

  • there is a change in the information such as address, telephone, fax, e-mail, ranking due to promotion etc.

d) Officer Particulars Form and Current Company Officers Particulars shall be submitted together with the "Annual Company Statistics 20……" by 31st August annually.


1.5 Insurance Coverage
All members of the Brigade are covered by a Personal Accident Policy which entitles every member a maximum medical benefits per accident of RM1000.00 and RM10,000.00 for death & permanent disablement. This covers to and from home during BB activities strike, riot and civil commotion and motor cycling.

Company Dues
2.1 Tabulation of Company Dues
a) The tabulation of Company Dues is determined by the submitted "Annual Company Statistics 20……" form to the BB HQ.
b) The Company Dues is tabulated based on the previous year submitted "Annual Company Statistics 20……".
e.g. Annual Company Statistics 2001 submitted to the HQ shall be tabulated as Company 2002 Brigade Dues.

2.2 Tabulation Method
a) The current rate of Company Dues shall be tabulated as follows :

Per annum

  • Boys & Girls (Pre-Junior / Junior / Senior / Primers) RM12.00 per head
  • Officers RM120.00 per head
    (Warrant Officer / Lieutenant / Captain / Honorary Captain / Chaplain)
  • Company RM200 per company

Maximum Ceiling
A Company will pay a maximum of RM2600 if membership has reached the maximum numbers of

  • Boys & Girls 100 members x RM12 = RM1200
  • Officers 10 officers x RM120 = RM1200
  • Company 1 company x RM200 = RM200
    Total RM2600

2.3 Payment
a) Company Dues must be paid between 1st January and 30th June every year.

b) Payment shall be made payable to "THE BOYS' BRIGADE IN MALAYSIA"

  • by Post
    to 5, Jalan Anak Gasing (6/5), 46000 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
    by cheque or bank draft. (Do not send cash by post)
  • On-line payment
    Maybank Bank Current A/C No. 512530 172 091
    by cheque / bank / cash
    *Kindly fax the bank in-slip / deposit slip to fax no. 03-7784 4323 followed by sending the original copy to BB HQ. Please retain a photocopy for Company record in case the original slip lost during mailing. Please write below the bank in-slip / deposit slip the following :

e.g. "1st Johor Bahru/2002 Dues"

2.4 Penalty
a) In compliance with the "By-Laws" of The Boys' Brigade in Malaysia approved by the Brigade Council at the 36th Brigade Council Meeting on 18th March 2000 a penalty for late payment of Company Dues shall be imposed.

Finance
No. 19 - A penalty of RM50 (Ringgit Malaysia) shall be imposed on late payment of Brigade Dues (Company Dues) received after 31st July of that particular year.

Principle of Declaration
a) Any amendment on the Company Annual Statistics and Company Dues after submission to the HQ must be based on the following procedures :
  • Any amendment on the Company Statistics after it has been submitted to the BBM HQ must be done before (one) month before the Brigade Council Meeting in the following year.
  • A letter of application for amendment by mail / fax / e-mail must be forwarded to the Brigade Secretary at the BBM HQ.

b) The principle shall be :

"any form of official declaration, submission and presentation of the Company Statistics and Company Dues to the Brigade Exco and tabled up to the Brigade Council Meeting for adoption and approval and subsequently approved by the Brigade Council is irrevocable".

Application for Reduction, Waiver or Postponement of Company Dues Payment
a) In the event that a Company cannot meet the payment deadline, a Company can take the following steps :
  • To discuss with the matter with the State Commissioner
  • To write to Brigade Finance Chairman with a cc copy to the Brigade Treasurer and State Commissioner.

b) Any application by Company for reduction or waiver of Company Dues must be done in writing to the Brigade Finance Chairman addressed to the BB HQ accompanied by a Statement Income & Expenditure Accounts and Balance Sheet duly signed by the Captain, the Company Treasurer and the Auditor as supporting document. Submission of the above documents only applicable to application for reduction and waiver only.

c) The application shall be tabled up at the Finance Committee Meeting for verification and subsequently presented to the Brigade Exco meeting for approval.

d) An official letter from the Brigade Secretary will be sent to the Company informing on the decision.

Penalty/Deprivation
a) Failure to pay the Company Dues will deprive the Company from participation in Brigade Competition, Events, voting and special discounts entitled on any offer at the Brigade level such as Brigade Council Meeting registration fee, BB Shop purchase, etc.

b) Participation on the above events shall be granted only after the Company has submitted application for reduction or waiver and subsequently approved by the Finance Committee. However, the Company is still not eligible for any discounts from BB Shop purchases.
